Monday 2nd May 2011 - Wacky Windsor Tea Party
"You don’t have to be mad to work here, but it helps!”
To end the busy bank holiday weekend Windsor Royal Shopping held the ‘Wacky Windsor Tea Party’. The Punch & Judy show proved it can still entertain children after 170 years, whilst the magician ‘Steve G’ amazed both adults and children alike with balloon tricks. The Madhatter was causing trouble around the centre, informing children of the upcoming show times and telling his story.
Saturday 30th April 2011 - Windsor Royal Shopping Fashion Show
Windsor Royal Shopping held its annual Fashion Show on the sunny Royal Wedding weekend. It was the first show to be held on a Saturday and all 4 shows had the seating area full to the brim. The show’s theme was ‘Love is in the Air’ and had 7 models showing over 77 different outfits from the centre’s various fashion houses. The new Jewellery store; Vogue Diamonds kindly offered to dress the models with a selection of their rings and necklaces, and also offered 25% off all jewellery for the day. A colour consultant was on hand to advise women on which colour would suit their skin tone, and did her own talk on-stage named ‘All About Colour’. Jo Malone also took to the stage to promote their brand new fragrance; ‘Sakura Cherry Blossom’ which was exclusive to the Windsor branch for the day of the fashion show. The pods adjacent to the catwalk provided a good spot for other tenants to take advantage of the increased footfall.
Friday 29th April 2011 - Screening of the Royal Wedding at Windsor Royal Shopping
Situated opposite an official royal residence; Windsor Royal Shopping had to do something to commemorate the wedding day for William & Kate. Two screens were set up a day before the fashion show to screen the wedding live to the customers of the centre. The screening attracted upwards of 400 people, with the crowd joining in to sing the national anthem and ‘Jerusalem’ during the wedding service. 5 Women in full bridal dress arrived in the centre to add to the atmosphere (Along with a bottle of champagne each!). Union jack flags were handed out by Joules, and the rain held off to ensure the locals of Windsor could celebrate the big day.
Saturday 23rd April 2011 - St. George's Day
Windsor Royal Shopping celebrated St George’s Day with the inner-circle magician ‘Steve G’ performing the ‘magic’ version of the Story of St George. Children of all ages were encouraged to take part in the re-enactment, acting out roles of the princesses, knights and dragons. A ‘Knights and Princesses’ fancy dress competition was also held and prizes included a family ticket to Legoland.

Tuesday 8th March 2011 - Windsor and Eton Flippin Pancake Challenge
Hearts were pounding and nerves were tweaked as the 6th annual Flippin Windsor and Eton Pancake challenge took place at Windsor Royal Shopping on Tuesday 8th March. With an increased number of teams for 2011, the event was always going to be a close affair. However the Men from Atlantis (aka Legoland) came out as victors for the second year in a row. New teams included the Irish Guards, Town Wardens and East Berkshire College and a special Mascot race which was won by Nandos restaurant. Keiran Foley from Legoland’s winning team and who were wearing snorkels to promote their new ride opening this year - said "It feels really good to have won. At first we thought it was a bit of fun, but when we got to the final it was quite tense!” The prize for the best dressed team for the day went to Mercure Castle as all members had taken the theme of the 15th century house wife to the extreme with full fishnet stockings, hair rollers, foundation and lipstick. All funds raised will go to Help for Heroes and the Windsor and Eton Christmas lights fund. It is hoped that over £700.00 will have been raised once all of the sponsorship has been collected.

Joules Opens New Store in Windsor Royal Shopping
